Mikey and I did this while at a YoungLife retreat in Louisville.. this is a skit we did for YL. It's pretty funny.. :)
Then we went to the Destination Jesus retreat.. they did this skit. I had seen it before but I cried just like a "leeettle garl".
We also saw this video:
I've been doing some babysitting to get ready for the road/camping trip that Mikey and I are getting ready for. Whenever Tommy and the boys and I go to Cleveland, we always do this to Tommy:

Best Night Ever!
Maura is my absolute #1 on my list of singers! I had listened to Maura since I was a baby. She is from County Clare in Ireland and has an amazing voice! I have honestly dreamed about singing with her for years!
It's a long story (we had met at our Irish festival this past summer), but she called me up in the middle of the concert! We sang "Trouble in the Fields", one of my favorites! :) :) :) If you want details, ask me in person.. it's too exciting of a story to type.!!!!
It was definitely a dream night! :)

New Year's Eve
Did Christmas fly by for you, like it did for me? I heard someone say "Merry Christmas" today and thought, "What the heck, lady? Christmas was last week!" And then I got sad. I can't believe it went by so quickly! New Year's Eve is next (more info on the happenings of NYE below..), but let's be honest, it always blows. The only reason I resent my dependancy on movies is how they all have formed my idea of how New Year's Eve should go. Here's how, each year, I assume my NYE will pan out (I can ID some of these moments as direct scenes from movies like "A Lot Like Love", "When Harry Met Sally" and "Someone Like You" and more):
1.) A group of friends will have exclusive tickets to a high-end party, most likely at a bar or club and I will go. However, late in the night (about 42 minutes before midnight) some huge drama will take place and I will leave crying. I will not be able to get a taxi so I will walk home and break the heel on one of my shoes halfway there.
2.) I get back to my apartment and somehow make connection with a guy friend with whom I have rarely spoken. He will tell me that he is sending a car to pick me up to bring me to the party he is at. I tell him I have nothing to wear but agree to go because it's humanly impossible to spend New Year's at home.
3.) In the back of my closet, I will find this incredible dress that is more formal than my future wedding dress. However, the party will cost more than any wedding I've ever been to and this dress will be an appropriate choice, despite the sequins. No idea where I got this dress but it fits like a glove. In fact, somewhere I find some gloves and then I leave for the party.
4.) I arrive and do not recognize anyone. I can't find the guy that called and I start to cry. As I turn to leave, I suddenly see an ex-boyfriend standing with another young lady. Although there is no cue, everyone starts counting down to the new year and I watch my ex start to make-out with his lady friend when the countdown ends. Suddenly, the guy that called comes rushing up and distracts me from such a scene by making out with me. God bless him.
5.) The guy and I get married.
6.) He's rich.
So as you can imagine, my actual New Year's Eve rarely stands up to what I expect to happen. I have been racking my brain, but can't even remember what I did last year. My only semi-movie-ish NYE was when I was dating that guy from Ireland and we spent NYE in Belfast. At one point, his ex-girlfriend walked in and I said, "If she even talks to me, I'll kick her." Four champagnes, two shots of tequila and one Bailey's later, we were crying and hugging and I called her my best friend (my boyfriend was pissed). Then at midnight, even though I had a boyfriend to make-out with, I vaguely remember some confusion when I turned and almost kissed his best friend... (Sigh) I miss the drama.
But the rest of my NYEs I've ended up with champagne (or more likely, the champagne of beers) down my front, my mascera down my cheeks and a run down my hoes. The only thing I get at midnight is my turn in the ladies room and I would rather be watching a movie on Lifetime in comfy pants and a sweatshirt, making-out with a can of Diet Coke.
So this year, here's the plan: A low-key, cozy party at the Beardmore Home. Monday, Dec. 31st at 10:00pm (previously, we thought there was midnight mass, but we found out there is just 4:30pm at St. Boniface). We can play games, drink booze, play pool, watch the ball drop, watch a movie, drink booze, whatever. No pressure to get great dresses or midnight kisses, this is very laid-back. Anyone is welcome, just let me know. Just bring some refreshments to share (food or drink) and low expectations for a fun night! :)
Happy New Year!!

My Date (With Mortification...)
So Saturday night I had a date. It was a lot of fun, great conversation and the guy is super sweet. Okay, before I tell the embarrassing part, listen to this! A couple weeks ago this guy and I were talking about shows we used to watch as kids. I said, "There is this one show that no one ever remembers.. I don't even remember anything about it, except that in the opening credits the host is running through meadows and forests with a guitar on his back and then he crawls through a hallow log, and the show is set in a clearing in the forest." He said he had no idea, but later on he googled it and found the show; it's called "Fred Penner's Place"! Then he sent me this link. I was totally amazed; not only had I been asking people about this show since high school, but the clip was a lot cheesier than I had remembered.. Anyway, when he came to pick me up on Saturday night, I answered the door and he gave me a hug and then he said, "I was going to bring you flowers, but.." And he pulls out a VHS of the show, "Fred Penner's Place"!! How freaking sweet is that!??!
Anyway, so needless to say, the date started off well. However, I had made reservations at La Scala and they didn't have it! They couldn't fit us in until way later, so we tried Brew Co. but they had a one-hour wait! So we're walking down Main Street and I said, "Okay.. well, there's Kokoro, it's a Japanese place.. Or the Bistro.. or there's a sports bar down that way..? And he said (well, I thought he said), "Do you call it Chumley's?" And I was like, "Yeah, Chumley's! Wow! How did you know that?" And he gave me this weird look, and said, "What? So you want to go there?" And I said, "To Chumley's? Okay." And he said, "That's the Japanese place?" And I was like, "No, that's Kokoro.." And he was like, "What?" So I said, "Stop. What did you say in the first place?" He said, "I said, 'Do you like Japanese?'" And I was like, "Ooookay, I thought you said, 'Is it called Chumley's?'" Poor guy.. haha But he had more "Caitie" to come, so.. read on!
Here's the big finish: We ended up at Kokoro and on the way back to the car, we were talking about clumsiness and, right in front of the gay bar, I tripped and fell right on my face. On a date. I fell. On the ground. In front of my date. FELL!
Oh my gosh, (your name here), it was so embarrassing. I nearly died. He was so great about it, didn't mention it (except for a few worried, "Oh my gosh, are you okay?"s) and I think he was trying to forget about it and pretend it was no biggie. But of course, if you know me, you know that I deal with any bad situation by making a lot of jokes (sometimes to a fault), so I just decided to find the humor in the situation (though it was hard, as my knee was scraped up like a 7 year old boy). We got into the car and it was quiet for a few seconds and he said, "So, what were we talking about before.. um... you know.. " And I said, "Oh, you mean before I totally wiped out on the sidewalk? Is that what you meant?" And we got a good chuckle out of that one..
This morning I went home to my parents and my mom asked how the night went. I told her what happened and gave her a replay of the "Fall of '07" (which is what I am calling it now), complete with my inner monologue while I was lying on the ground.. We laughed so hard that we cried.
I'm glad somebody enjoyed it.
Anybody want to take bets on the chance of a second date??? :)

If they can keep me in the car, we're going on a road trip!
Anyway, I am soooo excited because Mikey and I are taking some of the YoungLife girls to Cincinnati for a Maroon 5 concert and college visit to Xavier! We're staying at my aunt and uncle's house overnight and it's going to be SUPER fun! A guy who used to work with YoungLife has given us a 12 passenger van for free and I cannot wait! :)
Unfortunately, however, my cousin got 4 tickets a couple weeks ago (originally it was just going to be me, Mikey and my cousins, Maura and Kathleen)! I bought the 5 tickets for the girls this morning.. Maura's 4 tickets are in section 113 and the 5 that I bought this morning are FLOOR SEATS (see seating chart below)! We are row N in Floor 2 section (aka - AWESOME SEATS!)! Any ideas of how to sneak 4 people down onto the floor?? Ain't no thang.. We will find a way. Oh yes, we will find a way.

Mikey and I to get the 12 passenger van, we have to go pick it up in Richmond. Oh! AND the concert is actually in Columbus, Oh. So in 2 days, Mikey and I will have driven over 800 miles. Lovely. I'm glad there will be lots of people in the car tho.. Mikey and Lo know how horrible I am at long trips by myself. I can't stand being in the car that long. I just get antsy! Plus, if I can even smell a hot pretzel at a shopping mall, I'm a goner! I do more shopping on the route to and from Cleveland than I do in the months between trips! And I go maaaybe three times per year, mmm-kay? I always end up calling Mikey and Lo and make them convince me to keep going; the 6 hour trip usually taking me about 9 hours. The last time I went to Cleveland I had my guitar and stopped at a rest area. I walked a little bit aways and sat in the grass and played guitar. Then this old guy came over and was listening and I was like, "Hi." And he was like, "How ya doing?" (in an old man's voice). And I was like, "Oh, well I just wanted to get out of the car for awhile.. long trip, you know?" And he was like, "Yeeeaahh (still old man's crackly voice) I know what you mean. I'm driving out to Utah to see my son. How much farther you got?" And I was like, "Oh.. umm.. about an hour and a half.."
Anyway, say some prayers for a safe trip! And if you have any ideas for sneaking in people to better seats at a concert, let me know! :)

Last night, at the CC game, I brought my sister Annie over to see this newborn baby. The baby was being held by the grandmother. The baby's mother (who is 16) was running around the game, as a normal 16 year old should be. Now, I don't judge. Every baby is a gift from God. And part of my going over to see this baby was to show the grandmother that I do not look down on her and that I am excited for any new life. But let's just be honest, a 16 year old as a mother is not the ideal situation. Anyway, I picked Annie up so she could see the baby and I said, "Isn't he tiny!?" She was very cute and was watching him and looking at his little fingers. Then the grandma said, "Yeah, he's tiny. You were never this tiny Annie cuz you're bigger. But, like you, Caroline (DeBoy --who was with us), you were." Meaning, Annie's body type is bigger than most. Annie looked confused and turned to me. I was shocked. WHO. THE F. WOULD SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT! Like there are not enough young girls with "I-don't-look-like-Barbie" complexes out there! I was furious! I wanted to mention the fact that we pride Annie on the fact that she ain't no bastard child. Grrr! But instead I said, "Oh yes she was, Mrs. ___. She was the cutest little baby you've ever seen." And walked away.
Does anyone else feel the same way? I can't stand how early self-consciousness sets in with young girls. And it's no wonder when people say stuff like that. Maybe I am used to all the boys that I am oversensitive..

And here's the view from the Ferris Wheel..
Here we are getting a quick "session" in with Dr. Bronze (by the way, when we took this picture, we asked some tourist to take it. But then the batteries ran out in my camera, so I made him wait there while Mikey fished out the new ones and I put them in, made sure the camera worked and then said, "Okay! Shoot!" Poor guy!)..
We did some other stuff too.. walked a million blocks, ate the most uncomfortable comfort food ever, did our (well, Mikey's) make-up at Neiman Marcus, bought a homeless man dinner but never gave it to him, etc.
And then, it was time. For one of the most amazing concerts I have ever been to.. which by the way, was supposed to start at 7pm but did not start until 10:30pm!! And we still had to drive all the way back, but it was okay cuz it was Dolores O'Riordan and she ROCKED OUT!
We ended up pressed up against these two guys (not as good as it sounds.. they were gay, so no luck) in the front row! But there was some drama at the show.. this 21 year old boy was dead set on standing right where we had already planted ourselves and even pinched Mikey to get her out of the way! Then this rude woman next to us was just.. the rudest woman ever! Anyway, it was awesome and we were THE FRONT AND CENTER people by the end, even holding her hand while she sang "Linger"! How cool is that!? Anyway, it was a fun night and I owe it all to my ex-sugar daddy.. I miss you.. my boo.Thursday, September 06, 2007

Important things..
Did I tell you that I've put my 2 weeks in at work? My last day is next Friday, which is actually my 2 year anniversary of working here. I've LOVED being a Court Reporter; it was right up my alley, but if Law School is my aim, I gotta get cracka-lackin' on this undergrad! Anyway, that's some new news.. I will miss it. :*(
Did you see this?? One mother, 4 identical girls. Good God, please bless this woman! Although when I was younger I ached for a sister, I am now so thankful for my 5 brothers in a row. And my two little sisters, though aged 2 and 4, bring more drama to my life than even I am able handle (see 2 blogs ago..).
More importantly, however (hehehe), is my birthday. Compared to my friend who shares the same date of birth, (August 23rd and a one Miss Theresa Mills), and with whom I will share my celebration (more below), I am completely obsessed. I wish I had some shame in the matter, but I just LOOOOVE my birthday! I would hope to chalk it up to praising and thanking the Lord for the beautiful life He has given me.. However, it is more likely that I am a selfish girl and enjoy the one day of rightful attention. Not perhaps... I am.
ANYWAY, I thought I would also extend an ivite via my blog (like Monica), so..

Come, come! Come, come on the kick drum! Come, come!
Perhaps one of the band members had a hippie brother who needed a little extra cash after his trip to Nairobi (??) and the band member convinced his band-mates to let his brother play the bongo because apparently, he played a lot on his trip while they "passed the peace pipe" (you know what I mean, Mary) in the Rainforest. After they recorded the song nobody had the guts to say, "Um.. Bill, you're brother is very nice, and I don't mean to dis the Nairobian (???) culture, but I think the bongo sounds really stupid.." so it ended up on the CD.
Or maybe it was a charity thing! They raffled off tickets giving someone the chance to be the featured musician on their next CD but the person who won was some 9 year old girl named Destynie with ADD, a lisp and braces who "plays" the recorder and should know better, but always asks embarrassing questions in front of a large number of people (you know the kid). They were really pissed but they couldn't back out because it had been in the paper, so they convinced her to put down the plastic whistle and play the bongo. I can just see her in the studio now.. they've recorded everything but her part and everyone is in the control room. They press play for the 12th time and Destynie is dancing around, jumping up and down, slapping the bongo every once in awhile and asking, "Bill! Biiiill!! MY BROTHER SAYS OUR STEP-DAD HAS MAN-BOOBS!! Is that what YOU HAVE!!!??? BILL!!"
Or perhaps it was just a bad musical decision. They got influenced by a young producer who was a little trigger happy and added some synthetic bongos and convinced them that this was their ticket out of background music at Starbucks. Hello, Panera.
Having thought of all the plausible scenarios, I stopped and realized that the next song was on, this time a classical guitar piece! How nice! But that same bongo had weaseled it's way into that one too!! I was astounded! I was bewildered! I got up to refill my drink, looked around to see if anyone else had noticed and saw... the kid, a couple booths down, kicking his feet and hitting the wooden panel under his bench to the beat, making a sound uncannily similar to the sound of Bill's brother's bongos...
No..!
I stopped and squinted while I stared at him. Listening to the music.. and his kicking.. the music.. his kicking.. until I was sure that there had been no bongos. Just some 7 year old hyperactive boy who's mother didn't have the energy to tell him to stop. And no Beardmore kid can criticize THAT! I had been had.
I will commend the kid though, he had pretty good rhythm. Perhaps I can introduce him to Destynie and they can create their own spastic tribal music..

High Maintenance or Dramatic?
High Maintenance
I googled 'high maintenance' and found that wikipedia had nothing!! Perhaps the contributing individuals of 'the wik' have yet to encounter a high maintenance broad.. Either way, I was suprised to find nothing! However, after furthering my efforts (i.e. adding the word 'definition' to my search), I found the following;
High maintenance: requiring an excessive amount of attention or effort to maintain (a high-maintenance car, a high-maintenance relationship).
Hmm.. here's why I don't think I am high maintenance; I'm pretty laid back, I don't require designer labels or crazy gifts to keep my happy, and I have yet to utter the words, "You don't deserve me, Javier! You don't deserve me!" (Read: yet..).
But lets be official about this and take an online quiz..
| You Are Low Maintenance |
![]() Otherwise known as "too good to be true" You're one laid back chica - and men love that! Just remember that no good guy likes a doormat. So if you find your self going along to get along... Stop yourself and put up a little bit of a fight. |
Okay, see!? I agree with that! But let's move on..
Dramatic
I can't tell you how many times I have been referred to as a 'Drama Queen'.. Too many! And I agree.. I love me some good ol' fashioned attention and what better way to get it than to produce some tears and convulsions? Haha Just kidding.. It's not that bad. But I do like to get my way.. Let's check 'the wik'..
Drama Queen: a person who reacts to a stimulus or event with a superfluous amount of emotion; often in order to garnish attention.
Yeah.. not bad, Wikipedia.. not bad. But we can't make a full decision until we consult our trust online quizzes, now can we?
| You Are a Drama Princess (or Prince) |
![]() People around you know that you're good for a laugh. But at times, your drama gets a bit too much for everyone.Tone it down a tad, and you'll still be the center of attention. |
Very good, online quiz!
But here's where I am torn.. I am not dramatic all the time! For example, Mikey once took my car without asking and I was like, "Don't do that again. Haha!" (Sorry, Mikey.. I had to use that example). Wait.. I ALWAYS use that example for how I'm not always dramatic.. do I have any others?? And one time, for Young Life, the projector didn't work and I was stressed out and had worked really hard on my talk, so I freaked out! I was crying, I think I even said, "What the hell?" in front of one of the kids.. It was bad.. So one of my other YL leaders had somebody come bring a new projector and when they brought it in, I was like, "Oh! Okay! Hehe!" So, maybe I am high maintenance.. Or is that dramatic?
This whole post is dramatic!!
AGH!!!
(I run out of the room, crying, yelling, "I hate you, Javier!")

The Irish Fest!
Having been promoted to oversee CD and "merch" sales from the celtic rock bands, my main job was to deal with the bands, one of them being Gaelic Storm. I've never listend to "the storm", nor will I in the future.. Let's just say, their egos are quite a bit bigger than their bodhrans. Biggest jerks I have ever dealt with.. Keeping my gossiping to a minimum (I've already done enough today), just know: I. Was. Disgusted.
Over the course of the weekend we made a little video of the festival for my grandparents with messages from all the grandkids and the volunteers. It was really cute and ended with my cousin filming the crowd from the rock stage while they cheered "Happy 25th Anniversary!" We haven't shown our grandparents yet, but we're sending them the video as soon as my cousin copies it. I think they'll be really pleased.
It was a great weekend but I missed my own bed and my roommates. I'm still not back in my own bed because I'm staying at my parents (the family is still in Cleveland) with Murphy. Poor dog. She gets sooo depressed when the kids are gone. I imagine that it would be like one of those movies where someone wakes up and every person in the world is gone, you know? It's all cloudy out. You see a lone swing blowing in the wind and walk down a vacant street, passing empty cars with the doors still open and swaying street signs.. I'd be depressed too if I was all alone and used to the constant buzz of a household of 10! Anyway, I do have my roommates back; as at least one has stayed with me at the Beardmore home each night I have been back. We had a cookout and watched half of DreamGirls.
On a side note, I went to see HairSpray! GO SEE THIS MOVIE! It was a blast and once again, I dreamt of life as a musical! Heck, most of my life already is, as we Beardmore kids break into song regularly. But I couldn't help but think of my school/work life with back-up dancers and jazz hands.. What a dream!! And I'll only say this.. If life had been a musical this past weekend, my dealings with Gaelic Storm would have been best expressed in a song called "You Spit When You Yell (Reprise)".

4th of July
On a positive note, Theresa Mills and I went to see Life Free / Die Hard, the new Bruce Willis movie. Granted, I had my hands over my eyes most of the time.. but in the few moments when I wasn't curled up in my chair, perfecting the fetal position, gasping for air as a semi-truck filled with explosives rolled down giant slabs of concrete that were being blown up by the fighter jet (typical), I was gasping for air as Bruce Willis looked into the camera and seemed to say, "I love you, Caitie." It was pretty good. Plus, Theresa and I made good use of the $10 bucket of free popcorn that I can use for a year. This is an excellent buy and I would highly suggest the investment to the avid and frequent movie-goer.
During the movie, my mom called and when I called her back I left a message asking her to pick me up since Tommy had the car and was on his way to Illinois for a camping trip with the boys. My family was going out to my aunt and uncle's who live out past East Tipp. Well, it gets to be 4pm, 5pm, 6pm.. Let's be honest, the Beardmores aren't known for being "early birds", but this was getting ridiculous! So I call my mom and they'd already gone! I said, "You forgot about me??" and she said, "Umm.. No…". I didn't want her to go out of her way to pick me up, so I thought, "I'll just walk around campus, get in some good 'alone time', and watch the downtown fireworks from our parking garage. No biggie."
Around 9:30pm I climb to the top of the parking garage with my ipod and a couple beers. At first I was the only one up there! It was nice! But slowly more and more people started to appear. It began getting a little loud and I'm not gonna lie, I felt like a loser being alone, on the 4th of July, drinking Miller Light on the top of a parking garage. A couples times I wanted to turn to the people around me and say, "I'm not going to jump, you know.. My family just forgot about me. So.."
Also, I thought the top of a parking garage would be a perfect place to hang out since I hate being around when "lay people" set off fireworks. I was burned by a firework when I was in high school and I just don't trust a man with a mullet or a 3-year old child with a hand-held explosive. Does the 4th of July make people immune from severe burns? Like in some sort of cosmic way, burns don't happen on July 4th? Either way, I was surrounded by kids with june bugs and wiggle works and sparkle snakes! Actually I have no idea if those are real fireworks.. It reminds me of this quote: "You're gonna stand there, owning a fireworks stand, and tell me you don't have no whistling bungholes, no spleen spliters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker donts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick, or one single whistling kitty chaser?" ~ Movie 'Joe Dirt'.
Anyway, to top it off I was waiting for the downtown fireworks! Staring at the Courthouse rotunda, making sure I would see the first spark of the show! 10:30p rolled around before I even realized they don't do downtown fireworks anymore! I turn around to get ready for the West side fireworks and they were already going off! Perfect right!? No. The tallest building on campus is right behind the parking garage, blocking my entire view of the show.
Later I found out that Tommy didn't even go to Illinois and I could have gotten the car back to spend time with someone I know. I'm not upset about it though.. I think I just really celebrated Independance Day!
I still feel a little bit like a loser though..

Pride and Prejudice
Anyway, I am reading Pride and Prejudice... for the first time.
AHHH! (**flinching because I'm afraid you're going to hit me**)
Yes, it's the first time I've ever read it. And here's why:
When I was in high school, and encouraged to read the classic books of our time, I decided that any book endorsed by a one Mrs. Kathy Korty would be a waste of time. You might say I was a bit of a slacker... On the day that a book report was due, one of my friends would say, "Caitie, did read the book yet? Hahaha!" Everyone would laugh because no, of course I hadn't, and I would skip choir and lunch, go into the library and log onto the following websites; www.pinkmonkey.com, www.gradesaver.com, and my personal favorite, www.anti-study.com, to start my report. I would read summary after summary of the book, review themes and character descriptions and then write a 6 paged book report in 37 minutes flat. My most memorable book report was in poem form. Yes, I totally iambic-pentameter-ed "The Color Purple". I was pretty proud. :) And I think Mrs. Korty secretly loved it!!
Point of the story; when it was time to read Pride and Prejudice, I gladly skipped out and spent 1 hour and 37 minutes in the library on the day the report was due. No harm done, right?
No. Years later Mikey and Laura were watching Pride and Prejudice (BBC style) at our apartment. I passed through the living room and gave them a look, similar to the one I just gave the old woman behind me who just dropped some of those dominos all over the tile floor, and continued to look for that bottle of Jack Daniels that I had hidden in the couch. See, Mrs. Korty was also a big fan of the movies that were adapted from these classic books. And as a movie fanatic, I was even more opposed to the movies that she so dearly enjoyed. Heck NO! was I going to waste my time on THAT! So, I slept through each one; at one point moving to lay on the ground on my coat each day we watched "The Importance of Being Ernest" (no, I haven't read/seen that one either).
But after weeks and weeks of the 2-disc set sitting there; the only movie in our collection that I hadn't devoured 22 times, over and over, did the unthinkable. I watched it. The whole thing. In one sitting. I laughed. I cried. I really had to go to the bathroom. But I watched it.
And I LOVED it.
Since then I've watched it a million times. I've seen the new one with Kiera Knightly (which was great, but who can blaspheme their first P&P by being a traitor to a commercial version?). And I make references to the characters regularly.
I owe Mrs. Korty an apology. She was totally, absolutely, 100% right. The classics are classics! I have to make up for lost time now and read the books as well. Does anyone have Mrs. Korty's old book list? If so, find me at Panera. I'll be the one grabbing handfuls of dominos and throwing them at old women.
Again.

Re-cap from my myspace blogs..
Anyway! I will recap the last year of blogs.. A friend of mine convinved me to start blogging about the times that I "pulled-a-caitie". Actually, the phrase has caught on! So, here we go.. just a couple "Caitie" moments for you:
June 25th, 2006 - the sixth time that i pre-paid for gas, then got into my car and left without getting any! Same day: bumped into a display at CVS, knocked over the shampoo, then stepped on one of the bottles, spraying shampoo everywhere. When I tried to jump away from the other bottles, stepped in the shampoo and was flailing around, looking like a bad Nancy Kerrigan impersonator. The lady who had to come help me clean it up said it was like a movie.
July 1st, 2006 - Went to drive through at Starbucks. Was wondering why no one was taking my order until I realized my window was still up.
July 13th, 2006 - Used our babysitters car and crashed it.
July 15th, 2006 - Went to concert at Deer Creek and got stuck at security when they found a butter knife in my purse.. that is one that you have to read the whole blog..
August 3rd, 2006 - This one was an incident that happened awhile before.. an oldie but still a goodie.. "when i was moving from muncie my dad told me to tie the mattresses to the top of the suburban. so i was lifting up the mattresses, throwing the rope and bungee cords underneath, exerting myself much more than neccessary because as we pulled out of the driveway, the mattresses slid right off the car. i had tied them to each other, not the car. "
September 5th, 2006 - Left WalMart, drove halfway home before I realized that I didn't bother to return the shopping basket that I had used. I still have it. I wondered at what point would I have noticed if I had used a shopping cart...
So, that's just a couple. I have many more where that came from...

Okay, I know it's not 10 days later, buuuut...
Good thing - Jessica is doing SOOOO well! She is opening up a lot and we are really starting to become close. Today we went out to eat.. usually there is a little hesitation between us. Just like, we're not sure what to talk about. But today! We sat at dinner and talked for two hours! It was so great! Then when I dropped her off, we went inside and her mom and I talked for ANOTHER hour and a half! Wow! I am all talked out (if you can beleive it!). But it really is GREAT to know that she is doing better.
Oh gosh, I have a TON of homework still to do.. blog ya' later!
I have to go study.

Hola Readers!
Just for your info.. I'm not in a BAD mood.. just a tired, cranky mood.
Here are my plans for the week.. tomorrow I have a philosophy test. (Kill me) Then it's Fat Tuesday (Bring me back to life!)! Then I have to work ALL Wednesday (Kill me). Then Jessica and I will spend some time together (Bring me back to life). Then Thursday I have a German project (Kill me). And will go out to the Cactus with Spageddies people that nite (Bring me back to life). I will subsequently feel dead when I wake up Friday morning with a hangover and stay that way while I babysit Friday evening. However, I will bring myself back to life on Saturday to spend time with Jess and perhaps do NOTHING Saturday night.
Jess and I have been using up my movie gift certificates. We've seen Yours, Mine, and Ours - the new version (go see it!), Pink Panther - with Steve Martin (go see it!), Narnia (go see it!), and Date Movie (DO NOT SEE IT! ESPECIALLY WITH AN 11 YEAR OLD! STAY AWAY FROM THIS MOVIE!). I think we're going to start saving up to go to Build-a-Bear and I want to take her to Wicked, the musical.
Yay! Lent is almost here! I love Lent. I'm giving up some stupid little things that I hope will help me bring God into my thoughts while I am idle. Lent makes me proud to be Catholic. We give up things for God. We push ourselves to answer God's desires, not our own. Something that is rarely valued in our society. . I love Lent and I love being Catholic.
Oh! Someone (Laura) remind me to go to 7am mass on Wednesday because I don't have any other time to go. And everyone who reads this (Laura), pray for Jessica. I think she is getting better but still having a rough time. I wish I felt like I could bring God into her life. I guess I'm just going to have to do it indirectly.
Okay, that's all I got. Goodnight.

It's Friday!
Buuut, tonight I am going to dinner with Annie from Spageddies! We are going to Red Lobster. I have never been there before. Afterward, we're going out to the bars. She is a blast and I've needed a night out. Drunk-ville, here I come! Haha But honestly, I dont wanna be, like, the mayor of Drunk-ville.. tonight I just wanna pass through and say hello.
Anyway, that's about it for today. I'm a failure and soon to be a drunk failure. Oh my life..
PS. I cant wait to go to San Diego
