Skinny Bitch

You HAVE to read this book..

It's called Skinny Bitch and it's amazing! Life changing! Here's why I love it: first of all, it's totally frank. The first couple pages pretty much say, "Quit eating shit you pig and you won't be such a fatass." Helloooo, Dolly! I was hooked! :) But it's not a diet book. It questions what we really think of as healthy. Basically, sitting down to chicken and rice with a salad and milk isn't as healthy as we think. And although the title is Skinny Bitch, the book is about health, not size.

I have lost 16 pounds with Weight Watchers. But this book really instills a complete lifestyle change. I would totally recommend it! Even if you don't adapt everything into your life, it's a great read and gives some good "food" for thought! Haha Pun intended.

Anyway, we are having a Going Away Party for Kristine Keeney! It's Friday at 7pm at our apartment. It is 80's themed and appropriate attire is required. The more the merrier, so stop by! But BYOB, I always end up drinking all the alcohol we buy for parties before the event starts.. Whoops!

This past Sunday we had a Chris Meadows themed party. I think the pictures speak for themselves!

Yeah, I pretty much get tears in my eyes when I look at this and laugh hysterically.
Does that make a me a (soon to be skinny) bitch?

I'll have to pick the book up. Sounds great! I totally agree about the chicken, rice, and salad thing, too. David is always telling me to focus on health and not size. Take the year before we got married for example. I lived on granola bars, chicken, and diet coke, and I exercised twice a day. Yeah, I lost 10 pounds, but that entire year I was sick, moody, and very unhealthy.

The shift in focus from size to health isn't easy because almost everyone is focused on size whether they realize it or not. Any book that helps change one's priorities must be doing something right. I'm going to the library today after work to look for it.

I have another friend who read this book. She loved it and made some changes in her healthy eating habits too. Sounds like a good book! :)
